Independent IT advice for business · Prague

We work for you. Not for your IT and AI suppliers.

We are independent IT advisers for small and mid-sized businesses. We don’t sell licences or resell anyone’s services, so we can tell you the truth about your IT, your suppliers and what you actually need. And when something needs doing, we roll up our sleeves and do it.

  • Licences sold
  • Services resold
  • Senior people only

§01 Where it usually starts

Sound familiar?

Typical things people say in small and mid-sized firms.

“Our supplier sent us a quote for hundreds of thousands of crowns. I’ve no idea whether it’s good, and nobody to ask.”
Business owner
“We pay more for IT every year and I still don’t know exactly what for.”
Finance director
“The Wi-Fi drops mid-meeting and only one colleague knows the passwords.”
Office manager
“Apparently NIS2 applies to us. What does that actually mean?”
Managing director
“I need a senior ally when suppliers go over my head.”
IT manager
“Colleagues paste client documents into ChatGPT. I don’t feel good about it.”

§02 Why an independent adviser

Who advises you? And who profits?

Your IT supplier isn’t the enemy. It simply has a different job: to sell, install, run and invoice. But someone should be checking that what you buy is what you actually need.

11%

of small Czech firms employ an IT specialist. Among mid-sized firms it is 38%.

ČSÚ, 2025
50%

of small firms leave their IT entirely to outside firms.

ČSÚ, 2024
32%

of small firms use two-step sign-in (MFA). The EU average is 36%.

Eurostat, 2024
24%

of small firms had a security incident in 2023, most often a loss of service.

ČSÚ, 2024

Small means 10 to 49 employees, mid-sized 50 to 249. Sources: Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) 2025, ČSÚ 2024, Eurostat.

So nearly nine in ten small firms have no IT specialist of their own to check their supplier’s work. It works best together: the supplier delivers, we keep watch, so you get what you need at a price that makes sense.

§03 What we do

Three ways we help.

Start wherever suits you: a second opinion before a decision, oversight of a project, or a small job that someone finally finishes properly.

Second opinion

An independent view before you decide: on your IT, on the proposal on the table, or on the supplier you pay every month.

Useful when

  • a big quote is waiting for a signature
  • you’re not sure what you’re paying for
  • you’re thinking of changing supplier

Oversight and leadership

A senior specialist on your side of the table: oversight of projects and suppliers, the IT plan and budget, and NIS2 and rules for AI too.

Useful when

  • you’re starting a big IT project
  • you don’t have an IT director
  • NIS2 or AI is on the agenda

Hands-on

Small projects with a clear end and a fixed price. Wi-Fi, sign-in, Microsoft 365, servers, backups and documentation, done properly.

Useful when

  • something doesn’t work and nobody finishes it
  • your server is reaching end of support
  • only one person knows the passwords

The proposal nobody understood

The supplier proposed new servers and a move to the cloud for a six-figure sum in Czech crowns. The owner had nobody to ask whether it made sense.

What we do

  • Go through the proposal line by line
  • Compare it with the alternatives
  • Prepare questions for the supplier and sit down with them

What you get

A decision you can stand behind. Either confidence that the proposal is sound, or a precise list of what to ask for instead.

The server nobody dares to touch

Everything runs on one Windows Server 2016 machine whose support ends on 12/01/2027. Nobody knows exactly what’s on it.

What we do

  • Inventory the server, applications and licences
  • Options: cloud, new server, or a mix, with three-year costs
  • Backups first, then the move over a weekend

What you get

A supported platform, backups you can restore from, and documentation that belongs to you.

What we do

  • Measure the signal and design the network for the space
  • Separate staff, guests and devices
  • Install it with a vetted technician

What you get

One fast network for the team, guests kept apart, and a router nobody can reach from outside.

What we do

  • Inventory accounts, devices and services
  • Passwords into a company vault, needless access removed
  • Handover documentation for the successor

What you get

IT that doesn’t depend on one person. And a calmer time when the next person leaves.

  • Prepare a one-year plan of measures

What you get

Clarity on what you must do and what you needn’t, and a plan you can deliver on time.

The project that drags on

A new business system was meant to take six months. Deadlines slip, invoices grow, and management and the supplier speak different languages.

What we do

  • Review the status, the changes and the billing
  • Introduce checkpoints and acceptance criteria
  • Join the supplier meetings, on your side

What you get

A project under control, and a management team that knows where it stands and what it is paying for.

IT project oversight

§05 Two-minute self-check

How healthy is your IT?

Ten questions, no sign-up. Your answers stay in your browser; we store and send nothing.

  1. Everyone, management included, signs in to email and Microsoft 365 in two steps (a password plus a confirmation on their phone).

A stolen password without a second factor is all an attacker needs to get into your email and data. From your mailbox they can then send fake invoices with a changed bank account. Turning on two-step sign-in is quick and cheap.

  2. You keep backups outside the office, and in the last six months you have tried restoring something from them.

A backup nobody has tried to restore is only a hope. And a backup on the same network can disappear along with the data.

  3. You know everyone who has admin access to your systems, including suppliers and former colleagues.

Forgotten admin accounts of former suppliers and staff are open doors.

  4. Every server and computer runs a supported system and gets regular updates.

A system without security updates has known, publicly documented weaknesses. Windows Server 2016 support ends on 12/01/2027.

  5. Passwords and access details are not just in one person’s head.

When the only person who knows the passwords falls ill or leaves, the business stops.

  6. Guests and printers are on a different network from your computers and data.

A guest or a printer on the same network as your accounts is a needless risk, and a quick one to remove.

  7. You understand what your IT supplier invoices you every month, and you know how you could leave.

If you don’t know what you pay for or how to leave, you’re in a weak position with your supplier.

  8. You know whether the Czech Cybersecurity Act (NIS2) applies to you.

The Act has been in force since 01/11/2025 and mainly covers medium-sized and large firms in selected sectors. It pays to know whether that includes you.

  9. You have rules on how staff may use AI tools, and which data must never go into them.

Without rules, client data ends up in public AI tools. Rules and a suitable tool cut that risk a long way.

  10. You know what you would do if ransomware encrypted your data tomorrow.

A one-page plan of who calls whom and what gets restored first saves hours, and money, in a crisis.

Experience

We know the supplier side from the inside.

We know how IT proposals are put together, how they’re priced and where the cost and risk hide in them, because we have written them ourselves. We have designed solutions and delivered projects for mid-sized firms, international groups and the public sector. Now that experience works for you.

Our rules

P/01We sell no licences or hardware

Nor do we resell other firms’ services. We earn only from the work you order from us.

P/02Every step priced up front

A fixed price and a clear scope, before you commit to anything.

P/03The documentation is yours

Passwords, access and documentation stay with you. No dependence on us.

P/04With your supplier, not against it

We help your supplier understand what you need, and make sure it delivers.

P/05Plain language

Options, risks and costs explained so you can decide for yourself.

P/06We say when you don’t need us

Sometimes the best advice is “change nothing”. You’ll hear it from us.

P/07Checking and fixing kept apart

We write and cost the findings so that any supplier can quote for them. We quote for the fixes only if you ask.

P/08We never bid on what we oversee

On a project we oversee, we never bid for the delivery ourselves.

§08 The process

How we work together

Mostly remote, in person where it matters. From the first call to the handover you know what’s happening and what it costs.

  1. 1
    A free call

Thirty minutes about what’s bothering you. We tell you whether and how we can help.

  2. 2
    A fixed-price proposal

Within a few days, a short proposal: what we’ll do, what you’ll get, when, and for how much. No small print.

  3. 3
    The work

You always know how the work is going, and we raise problems early, not at handover.

  4. 4
    Handover

Documentation, passwords and procedures belong to you. We train your people or your supplier.

§09 Questions

Answers before you ask.

And if your question isn’t here, email or call.

Will you replace our IT provider?

Not unless you want us to. Mostly we work alongside your supplier: we advise, brief, check, and do small projects ourselves. We are not a support company with a helpdesk and an on-call rota. For smaller firms we can take on remote management of what we built after the project, with the scope, response times and price agreed up front in a separate contract. Otherwise we help you choose a reliable provider.

We have our own IT manager. Do we need you at all?

Perhaps not. If you do, we work with them, not instead of them, and they stay in charge. We back them up: a second opinion before a big decision, a senior ally in supplier negotiations, and the groundwork to make their case to management. On a project they can’t cover alone, we roll up our sleeves.

How do you make money if you sell nothing?

Only from the work you order from us. We don’t sell licences or resell services, and we take no commission from the suppliers we recommend. That’s why we can recommend a solution we earn nothing from.

How much does it cost?

Every engagement has a fixed price and a clear scope, and each service shows where it starts: a second opinion on a proposal from 7,500 Kč, an IT health check from 15,000 Kč, a part-time IT director from 29,000 Kč a month for two days. We give you the exact price after the first call, before you commit to anything. We are not VAT-registered, so these prices are final.

What are your terms?

A fixed price means that if the agreed work takes longer, we carry it. You pay more only if you change the scope, and you always know beforehand. A monthly fee (part-time IT director, project oversight) runs for a first three months, then either side can end it with one month’s notice. Unused days carry over to the next month, then lapse. Holidays are announced in advance and the days moved; for a longer absence we arrange a stand-in from the network. In and around Prague we charge no travel; elsewhere we state it in the proposal beforehand.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. Thirty minutes, no obligation, by phone, online or in person. We talk through what you’re dealing with and tell you whether and how we can help.

Won’t our supplier see it as an attack?

It needn’t. We work factually and respectfully, and we don’t look for someone to blame. A good supplier tends to welcome an independent view: it sharpens the brief and saves arguments about what was actually ordered.

Does NIS2 apply to us?

It depends on your sector, your size and the services you provide. The Czech Act mainly covers medium-sized and large companies in selected sectors, plus some services regardless of size. We go through the assessment with you and tell you what follows from it. More about NIS2.

Do you work outside Prague?

Yes. Most of the work can be done remotely. We come on site in and around Prague, elsewhere by arrangement.

How do you handle our data and access?

We work under confidentiality and are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). We take only the access the work needs, and remove it when we finish. We never publish client names or engagement details.

Do you work in English?

Yes. We work in English and Czech, documentation and meetings with foreign suppliers included.
